Welcome back……….I’m so excited to share with you my discovery of an Italian restaurant that is, of course, Very Lovely. Tucked inside the Cosmopolitan Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip is DOCG. It is owned by Chef Scott Conant. Those of you that watch “Chopped “on the Food Network will recognize his name, as he is a regular judge on the show. DOCG is named after a category of Italian wine called Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita. It is a casual Italian restaurant with brick walls that lead into a brick pizza oven in the back. The smell of freshly baked bread and marinara sauce simmering in the kitchen gives it a cozy welcoming feeling. I was invited to take photos of a variety of amazing dishes, thanks to wonderful and talented sou chef Gina, who arranged this tasty experience for me. (And all of you). The private dining room which has floor to ceiling windows and overlooks the Bellagio fountains is where my photo shoot and tasting takes place. The view couldn’t be more perfect…watching the water show while sipping on a glass of cabernet and enjoying a dish of Bogalusa pasta…………..ahh………..sounds like a good time to me!!! And, for those of you that may be looking for a Fine Dining Alternative, DOCG does have a sister restaurant next door called Scarpetta. It is open for Dinner only.
