Hello Lovelies!
Today I am talking Disney! It’s the happiest place on earth and has the most delicious food on earth as well. I am a huge Disney fan and have been since I was a kid, what girl doesn’t dream of being a Disney princess? I have made many trips to Disneyland over the years and within the past 3 years I have been a season pass holder. I go that much! My lovely boyfriend enjoys Disneyland just as much as me (I think I found my prince charming!). We go at least five times a year, it’s our go to vacation spot. On our last trip I decided to highlight our Disney must have foods. There isn’t anything in Disneyland I don’t like, but these are my favorite items that I have to get while I visit each time. Disneyland just celebrated their 60th anniversary last year, but have decorations still up and the celebration will continue till the end of the year. On our last trip, we got to the park around noon on the first day and the weather was slightly overcast, around 70 degrees with a light breeze. Coming from Vegas weather of 110 degrees I was bit chilly I needed some warming up. A soup bread bowl was just what I needed and one of my go to meals at Disneyland. The clam chowder is very popular throughout the park. It’s so nice and creamy and the combination of fresh baked bread surrounding it makes it the perfect combination! For each season, Disney offers a special seasonal soup that can be paired with the bread bowls. I decided to try the summer season soup, a chicken enchilada. This super tasty soup included shredded chicken, black beans, corn, tomatoes and bell peppers.
To get your hands on one of their yummy soups, head over to California Adventure. It’s just right across from the main park but loaded with just as much fun and magic.
The one great thing about California Adventure is that they serve alcohol. That is the one thing Disneyland does not serve and most likely never will, for kid friendly reasons. The main alcoholic beverage they serve in California adventure is beer. There are different beer carts and stations all over the park and they all have different selections of beer, including seasonal beer. The stands and charts range from selling margaritas to wine. The wine you can get specifically at The Vineyard by Cars Land.
All alcoholic drinks are not served until noon and they stop serving an hour before the park closes to help ensure safe travels home. We decided to eat at The Cove Bar which overlooks the Ferris wheel and the famous show, World of Color. You have to get to The Cove Bar at least an hour or two before World of Color to ensure a spot, and trust me the view is worth the wait. We were able to get in and enjoyed some delish appetizers and drinks while watching World of Color. One of my favorite items at the cove bar is their lobster nachos, they are unbelievable! We went the extra mile and had them “surf and turf” style with yummy slices of beef added in. The lobster came on the side in a small bowl. We dipped the chips into it to get chunks of lobster, but pouring it on top of the nachos would work just as well. The overall experience is one you will never forget.
Now let me tell you about my favorite food inside Disneyland that I can’t leave without having, Corndogs!! There are two spots in Disneyland you can score one of these golden brown beauties. The main spot is the corn dog cart located at the end of the main street walk next to the Plaza Inn. You can get corn dog chips or sliced apples and a drink for under $10 that is a steal. The other spot you can get a corn dog inside Disneyland is inside Frontier land at “Stage Door Café” Here you can get a different side with your corn dog, French fries! It is the same price as well, no extra charge! That’s an even better deal depending on your side preference.
One other treat that is a must have and perfect on a warm sunny day is a Dole pineapple float or soft serve. I personally love the float since I get the best of both worlds. Sweet pineapple juice topped with pineapple soft serve, you will feel like you’re in Hawaii at the Dole plantation. The stand is located inside Adventure Land. Connected to the Tiki room where they have a fun show to watch inside a hut where you can relax and eat your Dole favorite. One place I didn’t visit this trip that is a must is the Blue Bayou. You may have seen it while being on the pirates of the Caribbean ride. The restaurant is located inside the ride with dim hanging lights and food that is five-star worthy. I recommend making a reservation a head of time since it gets booked very fast and walk-ins are almost impossible. The pricing is a little more expensive, but worth it with options like filet minion and smoked salmon. It is a great place to celebrate any special occasion or just to enjoy a romantic meal. I could go on for days about the food inside Disneyland, but instead I’ll leave you with those few favorites of mine and hope they become your new favorite must haves when you visit. Disneyland makes me the happiest girl on earth and food can do the same thing, together it’s magical. The parks hours and themes change by season so make sure to plan your trip around your favorite season to get the best experience possible. My favorite season is Christmas and they display a giant Christmas tree full of beautiful ornaments and lights. Whatever season and time you make it I’m sure it will be filled with happiness and fun. Thanks for reading lovelies!
