BLK @ Huntington Beach

February 27, 2017 Shaunte Sahagun

Happy Monday Lovelies!

Today is a little gloomy and grey in Southern California, reminds me of the time I went to Huntington beach with my lovely friend Christina at the beginning of the month.  We went to the beach and walked around had a mini photoshoot with me as the model for once, it was fun. Christina is the owner and maker of “Zeal Society “swimwear you can buy and check out all her items on Etsy.  She hand makes all orders herself and does custom orders as well. The patterns and style she uses are so adorable and sexy all in one.  They have become my go to beach wear for the summer and I love how some pieces can be used for festival wear, Coachella is around the corner!

After the photoshoot we got hungry and decided to check out BLK it was a new restaurant across from the pier. We found it on Yelp and decided to try it out. It is located upstairs connected to a strip mall with inside and outdoor seating. The patio had a beautiful view of the beach and we got to watch the sunset from our table.  The restaurant is decorated with farmhouse style décor and made us feel very at home and cozy. Since the weather wasn’t the warmest they had heaters and a fireplace to help keep us warm and Cathy are lovely server offered us blankets to use as well. How cute is that?!  We got complementary warm bread and whipped butter to start. We also shared a quinoa kale salad that they split for us in separate bowls.  The experience just kept getting sweeter and sweeter as the night went on. I also got a beer to enjoy a seasonal stout that I don’t remember the name of, but it was delicious. For our entrees Christina got the veggie sliders that came with yummy garlic fries and I ordered the steamed Clams and a cup of tomato basil soup. It was the perfect comfort food for the weather and ambiance.  Everything was so delicious and Cathy made sure I had enough bread for dipping and was such a sweetheart about everything. After we finished eating Cathy surprised us with desert a chocolate molten make with vanilla ice cream. We were pretty full, but of course made room for dessert.  It was the perfect end to our meal and experience. I also got a cappuccino to complement the cake and wake me up for my drive home. Christina and I really enjoyed our time at BLK and plan to return on our next Huntington trip. They also do brunch on Sunday’s with bottomless mimosas for $30 that I will be checking out in the future no doubt! They also offer a happy hour five days a week with half off appetizers. If you are ever in the Huntington area, I highly recommend checking this place out.  Thank you again Cathy for your wonderful service and making our experience so enjoyable and memorable.

Thank you lovelies for reading about our trip to Huntington and I will see you again Friday with a new recipe to try out!

  Xoxo Shaunté
