Lovelies I have missed you!
As most of you probably know, I recently moved to California and have been MIA from the blog for a while. Thank you for being so patient with me as I got comfortable and settled in my new home. So far, things have been great and I’m loving my new surroundings and also, this weather! It’s 70 degrees like all the time! I love it! There are so many lovely places to eat and drink and of course, get coffee. Coffee is basically my best friend these days. I have been checking out a lot of coffee shops throughout California and will be writing about all of my favorites. Starting with today’s post. Lavender & Honey in Pasadena, CA is my new favorite spot. I made the decision to move to California sitting inside of Lavender & Honey in November of 2016. I went with my lovely cousin on Thanksgiving weekend. It was raining that day and really set the mood for the experience. I fell in love with the coziness of the shop, the cute decor, and the drinks.
November 2016 with my lavender latte :]
They offer food as well as specialty coffees and of course seasonal drinks. Immediately, I knew I had to try their Lavender Latte. It came in a big bright yellow cup, so cute! I also tried their avocado toast which was so amazingly yummy! (sourdough bread, mashed avocado and sliced jalapeños.) My cousin Cailey enjoyed their Caprese sandwich with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and a balsamic glaze on top of fresh ciabatta bread. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was so relaxing and enjoyable.
I remember making the decision to move to focus on my photography career and to have a change of environment. I was born in Northridge, CA and lived in Glendale on and off throughout my childhood, but mainly grew up in Las Vegas. Part of my family has always resided in Glendale, CA. I would visit often and daydream about someday living in California. I had gone through a lot in 2016 that lead me to this decision and now I have clarity that it was one of my best decisions I have made thus far. It’s scary going somewhere new and starting over, but also so rewarding. I have only been in California for 2 months now, but I don’t see myself leaving anytime soon. I have met some really great people and had amazing opportunities thus far. I am so excited about this new journey I have ahead and can’t wait to share it all with You lovelies! I have returned to Lavender & Honey to write my first foodie feature of CA and I couldn’t be happier to share the place that helped create the vision and dream I am living today. I plan to create and develop more ideas inside this lovely coffee shop and continue to grow as a person and entrepreneur.
Coming back to Lavender & Honey to write my first LA food post just seemed fitting and this time I enjoyed one of their seasonal coffees from the holidays “Brown sugar latte” it is the perfect amount of sweet and savory in a bright yellow cup to help brighten up the grey day. I sat outside on their patio area, complete with an adorable striped umbrella. I enjoyed their classic Italiano sandwich for lunch, it was giant, seriously I could only eat half, but boxed the rest up and saved it for later. It was a peaceful and quiet day with surprisingly light traffic, I genuinely enjoyed my surroundings and couldn't be more grateful for my lovely coffee. I feel so at home here with the baristas being so friendly and welcoming, they are always helping me by providing coffee or food suggestions. I plan on visiting L & H often and will continue to share my experiences here over time. It's a perfect space to hang out and write, did I mention they also have free unlimited wifi? I really hope you lovelies come check out Lavender & Honey if you’re in the Pasadena area it’s as sweet and lovely as their name. Have a wonderful day lovelies and I’ll see you again Friday for one of my Indian recipe favorites.
