Hello Lovelies!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Now, it’s almost New Years!! Woo!! 2017! I am so excited for the New Year. I have some big plans and goals I plan to accomplish - it is going to be one of my best years yet, I can just feel it! I have some exciting news to share as well to accompany some of my New Year’s resolutions. I made the move to beautiful sunny California! I moved to the LA area and couldn’t be more excited to explore this new city and find all the wonders California has to hold. I was born in Northridge, CA and lived in different parts in my younger childhood. I always felt drawn to come back and now, I finally have. I will be visiting Las Vegas quite often since all my lovely friends and mom are still there. This just means I have expanded my work to both Las Vegas and Southern California. I will be making some exciting changes and adding some new features to my site including adding my portfolio; I also plan to use other new ways to connect with you by sharing and creating wonderful moments in life. I can’t wait to share this journey with you in 2017!
I decided to spend one of my last nights in Las Vegas with my mom at the Linq. We rode the High Roller and ate at Gordon Ramsay’s "Fish & Chips", followed by dessert at Sprinkles! It was such a fun night! My mom had never been to the Linq before I was excited to show her around. One of my most visited places in the Linq is Brooklyn Bowl. If you don’t know what Brooklyn Bowl is, it has a concert venue inside along with a bowling alley and restaurant; it is pretty awesome! The High Roller is a giant Ferris Wheel that overlooks Las Vegas and takes 30 minutes to ride. You can rent out pods to host a party along with a personal bar inside or simply ride it without the bar just to enjoy the view. It is an experience unlike any other in Vegas and if you’re lucky, you may even catch the Bellagio fountain show while riding - it is such a different experience 100’s of feet in the air! The Ferris Wheel brings you to a peak of 550 feet in the air, making it the world’s largest observation wheel. I get scared of heights, but your secure and protected in the pods so this kept me at ease with how high we were.
After we walked around the Linq - there are so many great places to eat down the Linq strip and lots of different things to do and look at. The streets were filled with Christmas lights and a giant tree with presents, it was so pretty! Every hour they play a song with the lights and high roller matching the music, it is pretty cool and magical. I mainly wanted to take my mom to the Linq to eat. I had recently ate at Gordon Ramsay’s "Fish & Chips" a week before going with my mom and fell in love, so I had to return to write about it! I love how quick and fast the service is and how it is like a fast food paced restaurant, but with the best ingredients and chef creations. I got a special not listed on the menu with a combo of chicken, fish, shrimp, fries and a drink. It lets you try a little bit of everything which I like! My mom got Fish and Chips and we subbed out the fries for specialty fries number 1 and 2 combos. They were both so good. The number 2 Garlic Parmesan Fries are one of my favorites followed by number 1 with chorizo and Jalapeño for my spicy lovers! The way the fish flakes in your mouth is just so perfect and the sauces to dip - oh boy - so much goodness combined together. My favorite is the curry mango with a sweet and tangy flavor. My mom loved everything and she was very impressed with the quality and price; said she will be returning in the future! I expected nothing less for Mr. Ramsay and I am happy he keeps bringing his wonderful creations to Las Vegas!
Now for everyone’s favorite cupcake spot, Sprinkles. I have always loved making cupcakes and trying different ones for that reason. I love the famous show on Food Network, Cupcake Wars! One of the judges, Candace Nelson, is an owner and the fonder of Sprinkles Cupcakery. I heard about Sprinkles opening in Las Vegas with a 24-hour ATM full of cupcakes!! Yes, you heard me, an ATM for cupcakes! I was so excited to see what the hype was all about and decided to try a seasonal cupcake, I had the gingerbread cupcake and my mom got the dark chocolate. They were both so moist and rich! I fell in love with my first bite! I must say they are better than my cupcakes, their frosting is just so perfect! I ate half there and brought the rest home with me for later. It was a nice treat the next day.
The cupcakes in the ATM vary depending on location and what they have in stock. None of the holiday cupcakes were in the ATM when I was there so make sure to check store hours before you head down to Sprinkles at the Linq. I am so happy I got to experience the Linq with my lovely mom and happy I got to share it with you! I hope I helped encourage you to check out the Linq in Las Vegas; there is so much to do there that I didn’t even touch on. It is definitely a must see for Vegas!
I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Year! I will be returning later in January with more exciting changes and places to check out in my new home of the LA area! If there is any place you think I should check out in California, please share it with me and I would love to try it out!
