Welcome back Lovelies!
I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s recap of my first day at Life is beautiful. Today I am going over the rest of my time at the festival days 2 and 3. This weekend went by so fast I had so much fun and met a lot of great people along the way. Two of those people were top known chefs that were at the festival serving up their lovely specialty items. The first chef I am going to talk to you about is chef Ralph Perrazzo of BBD’s (Beers, burgers & desserts).
The specialty burger was a double steamed burger you could order with or without cheese. What makes this burger so steamy is the patties are steamed over chopped onions, and of course the onions inside are steamed between pickles and melted American cheese. This was the New York favorite’s second time at Life is beautiful they attended in 2014 and skipped last year since they just finished winning Rachel Ray’s wine and food Fest with their Double steamed burger, that beat out every burger joint in New York. This however wasn’t Ralph Perrazzo’s first time in sin city. He first came to Las Vegas in 2006 to work with Greg Waldron who wanted Ralph to be his head pastry chef inside Caesars palace. He worked for Pure as the corporate pastry chef for 3 years before opening “Social House” with Joseph ElevadoAfter 5 to 6 years he decided to head back home to New York and open BBD’s. He is so happy with all the success BBD's made him in New York, he loves the idea of expanding and would love to see a BBD’s in Las Vegas one day. I sure hope that happens as well, until next Life is beautiful thank you Ralph Perrazzo for bringing a taste of New York to Vegas.
After eating burgers at BBD’s I got margaritas from the Milagro tequila booth. My margarita was a frozen blend with a splash of green tabasco and tajian seasoning along with a fresh lime squeezed. It was by far one of the best margaritas I have ever had. They also gave away shirts and sunglasses with pretty framed art on the walls. It became my new favorite spot till the festival was over.
I ended day 2 by watching J Cole kill it on stage. He had the crowd going crazy! Every song was lit and my friends couldn’t stop singing and dancing to every song. I personally only knew a few of his songs, but still had a great time. He had so much energy and encouraged the crowd to be united and enjoy the time they have and how beautiful life really is. He was a perfect closer for day 2 of Life is beautiful.
Day 3 Sunday 25, 2016
“Sunday-Funday” day 3 has finally arrived and I was excited and sad at the same time. I was super excited to see the Lumineers perform later that night, but sad to see the festival end. I was also very excited to finally sit down and speak with chef Berry S. Dakake of N9ne steakhouse inside Palms Casino. I have eaten at N9ne twice before, both occasions for my birthday and had the most incredible time. My boyfriend was a manager in nightlife at the palms and he was the one to treat me to such a wonderful dinner. Knowing how incredible the food was at dinner I was excited to try what chef Berry created for Life is beautiful.
He told me they are using the same meat they use inside Nine steakhouse at the festival he was persistent to show me the meat’s and how great and fresh of a cut they use to make their Grilled rib eye sandwich. They use a big eye USDA prime and organic cage free chicken for their chicken sandwich. Chef Berry has been the executive chef at N9ne steakhouse for the past 16 years. N9ne has been a well-known steakhouse around since they first opened the Palms in 2001. Everything they served was absolutely delicious! The main dish I enjoyed the most was the “garbage salad” this had a bunch of yummy items creating this perfect salad. The great thing about this dish is you can get it at N9ne steakhouse anytime of the year, it is a menu favorite and now mine! Thank you again chef Berry for taking time out of the festival to show me a little behind the scenes of N9ne and letting me try and enjoy your lovely creations! I plan on visiting N9ne again soon! Mainly for the Steak but secretly for more lovely garbage salad.
Famous Garbage salad: Butter lettuce, frisee lettuce, Lollo Rossa lettuce, Molinari salami, banana peppers, kalamata olives, fresh herbs. cherry tomatoes, artichoke hearts, hearts of palm,English cucumbers, Maytag blue cheese crumbles, white Mexican shrimp, crispy shallots extra virgin olive oil, champagne vinaigrette, s&p.
A bunch of yummy garbage!!
I said I loved the margaritas at Milargo well theres another drink I came across that not only hydrated me, but kept my buzz going. Bacardi inside coconuts. It was like being on a tropical island, with hints of coconut and pineapple I never would have guessed there was alcohol in the drink it was a great refresher after walking around all day.
Time was getting closer to for the Lumineers to perform and me and my lovely boyfriend had “Young the Giant” to see before. They were fun to watch and had a jump suite on that reminded me of Outkast outfit from 2014 at Life is beautiful. They had the festival look on point. After they finished I was even more excited for the Lumineers and next thing I knew it was show time. They were amazing and didn’t want a lot of pictures and videos being taken they wanted everyone to enjoy the show and the experience in the moment. I respected this and only took pictures for 3 songs then continued to enjoy their soothing music. They have been a band on my bucket list to see and after their latest album “Cleopatra” I couldn’t wait to see them live and I am happy I saw them at the festival I love attending every year. It was almost like fate that my two favorite bands played the same weekend and I got to see them both! SO thankful for everything, I want to say thank you to Vegas Seven for putting Life is beautiful together and providing me with the experience I had. I cannot wait till next year and for all the beautiful new artist and food. I hope you lovelies enjoyed my recap of Life is beautiful and if you didn’t attend I encouraged you to attend next year the dates will be September 22nd-24th,2017 tickets will start to go on sale tomorrow at 10 am. Thank again for reading Lovelies see you Monday where I share my birthday brunch at Honey Salt.
